At CDI Solutions, we had the opportunity to work on the redesign of La Capitol FCU, a project that successfully blends aesthetic appeal with functional design. The primary goal was to create a cohesive, welcoming, and accessible space that enhances the customer experience while aligning with the client’s brand identity. Central to this effort was meticulous space planning, which was reflected in the careful arrangement of floor and ceiling patterns. These elements not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the space but also serve a practical purpose, guiding members intuitively through the branch. Each member touchpoint is organized around a central hub, ensuring a smooth flow from one area to the next and improving the overall functionality of the space.

A key aspect of our design approach was the emphasis on barrier-free design, making the space accessible to all members, including those with special needs, in compliance with ADA guidelines. The layout and design of the space, featuring strategic floor patterns and ceiling elements, created a barrier-free environment while delineating distinct member interaction points. Additionally, to reinforce La Capitol FCU’s brand identity, we incorporated color-blocking feature walls and ceiling "cloud" elements, creating a visually striking atmosphere. These design elements not only enhanced the space’s aesthetic appeal but also subtly guided members through different areas, strengthening the brand experience at every touchpoint.

The teller line was designed with functionality and accessibility in mind, featuring contrasting wood tones and recessed down lighting to highlight transaction points. This approach ensured that the space was both visually appealing and ADA-compliant, allowing all members to access services with ease. Additionally, we created a member lounge that integrates modern technology and comfortable seating, providing a space for members to engage with the credit union’s digital content and promotions. With careful attention to detail in wayfinding, life safety, and logo signage, we were able to create a functional, safe, and visually cohesive environment. The La Capitol FCU project stands as a testament to our commitment to creating spaces that are not only visually appealing but also functional, accessible, and reflective of the client’s brand.
