Kraftman Federal Credit Union enlisted CDI Solutions to design a new two-story headquarters and branch facility in Sterlington, Louisiana. The credit union's core values—prioritizing people over profit, a commitment to high-quality service, and viewing their members as family—were central to the project’s design. CDI Solutions was tasked with creating an interior that reflected these values and the deep community connections that Kraftman has cultivated over the years. The design aimed to combine traditional aesthetics with modern functionality, reflecting the credit union’s legacy and dedication to its membership.

The design concept for Kraftman Federal Credit Union drew inspiration from the long-standing tradition of its members, emphasizing heritage throughout the space. Classic design elements, such as custom millwork with recessed paneled wood and stone countertops, were incorporated to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The traditional teller line was accentuated with residential-style pendant lights, providing task lighting while also guiding members to their respective stations. Perimeter detailing, including crown molding, picture rails, and wainscoting, enhanced the traditional aesthetic, while ceiling trays with wood planks added visual depth. Chandelier lighting added both decoration and ambient illumination, contributing to a cozy and inviting environment.

The furnishings in the credit union’s public spaces were selected to evoke a sense of comfort and tradition. The seating areas were designed to resemble formal living rooms, complete with occasional tables and lamps, creating a homelike atmosphere. High-quality wood flooring was used with inlaid carpet tiles, mimicking the appearance of rugs while providing durability for high-traffic areas. Private offices combined traditional wooden furniture with modern amenities, ensuring a balance of comfort, elegance, and functionality. Each office was thoughtfully layered with elements that made it both rich in design and practical for today's professional needs.

In addition to the interior design, CDI Solutions handled the design of the custom exterior and interior signage, ensuring that each piece aligned with the traditional aesthetic. The signage was designed to be both functional and visually fitting, with a color palette and details like scalloped edges that evoked a sense of tradition. Even the NCUA compliance signage and literature displays were created with the same attention to detail. To further enrich the space, CDI Solutions commissioned renowned Louisiana artist Rhea Gary to create custom artwork. The pieces, inspired by the bayou's swamps and marshes, celebrated the natural environment and the local community that Kraftman Federal Credit Union serves, adding a distinct local touch to the overall design.

The final result is a space that reflects Kraftman Federal Credit Union’s values and traditions while providing a modern, functional environment for today’s financial services. The classic millwork, traditional furnishings, and custom signage all contribute to a comforting and professional atmosphere. The carefully chosen artwork by Rhea Gary connects the credit union to its local environment and community.
