Instep Federal Credit Union, one of CDI Solutions’ long-standing clients, has been a trusted partner for over a decade. Our relationship began with the design of NASJRB Federal Credit Union, which served the local Naval Air Station – Joint Reserve Base in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Over the years, their charter evolved, and in 2022, the credit union’s name changed from NASJRB to Instep Federal Credit Union. The credit union’s roots date back to 1948 when it was founded by Prentice “Jake” Jacob at the New Orleans Lakefront. Through various relocations and transformations, Instep continues to serve its members, now with two branch locations in Belle Chasse.

With each stage of growth, opportunities for reinvention arose. CDI Solutions was tasked with redesigning the credit union’s interior and rebranding it to reflect its new identity. The redesign starts with the entry experience, where visitors are welcomed by a concierge desk and member services area. The new logo is featured prominently on the desk, and a glass divider with a watermarked logo helps reduce noise while maintaining an open, airy feel in the lobby. The high ceilings and open spaces in the main lobby guide members intuitively to their destinations, enhancing their overall experience.

A key feature of the redesign is the custom millwork, which is strategically placed throughout the branch. The refreshment bar naturally leads members to the teller pods, designed for optimal function and privacy. The pods are equipped with integrated seating, accent lighting, and privacy screens, while a back feature wall showcases the credit union’s logo and discreetly houses teller equipment. The ceiling is adorned with clouds and custom pendant lighting, with cove lighting enhancing the ambiance. The use of natural wood tones, quartz countertops, and brand-inspired colors unites the design throughout the space.

Branding is integral to the design, extending beyond the public areas to private offices and conference rooms. Window frames are accented in Instep’s signature green, and custom privacy film incorporates the credit union’s primary and secondary brand colors. Additionally, acoustical baffles designed in brand colors not only improve sound quality but also reinforce the credit union’s visual identity. This attention to detail ensures that the brand is consistent across all areas of the credit union, from the front desk to the private offices.

The redesign also focuses on making Instep Federal Credit Union both the credit union of choice and an employer of choice. Amenities like the refreshment station, employee breakroom, conference spaces, and a member swag wall improve the overall experience for both staff and members. The furniture selected provides ergonomic flexibility and high-quality finishes for both comfort and aesthetic appeal. Additionally, CDI Solutions designed both the exterior and interior signage, including a large monolith sign with digital marketing boards, wayfinding signage, and custom private office signs, completing the cohesive branding package. CDI Solutions’ redesign and rebranding of Instep Federal Credit Union reflect the credit union’s evolving identity while enhancing the member and employee experience. The thoughtful integration of modern design elements, strategic branding, and functional spaces ensures that Instep remains a leading financial institution in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, ready to guide its community toward new financial horizons.
