At CDI Solutions, we were honored to be selected through EFCU Financial’s architect to bring a fresh and cohesive interior design to a newly constructed branch. This project allowed us to demonstrate our expertise in designing spaces that reflect a client’s values and brand identity while introducing modern elements within a standard branch footprint. Our scope included interior design, furniture selection and placement, and the design and coordination of both exterior and interior signage. The overarching goal was to create a functional and welcoming space that embodies EFCU Financial’s “Louisianan way to bank” philosophy and strengthens its connection with members.

In developing the interior design, we built upon materials and finishes familiar to EFCU Financial members while reimagining them through a modern lens. This approach retained continuity with existing branch designs but also offered a fresh perspective for this new location. Key elements like the custom millwork check-writing stand greet members upon entry, guiding them toward the teller stations and subtly dividing the space. This feature, along with the thoughtful interplay of contrasting wood tones and finishes, sets the tone for a branch environment that is both functional and inviting.

The teller line is designed for intuitive, smooth interactions between staff and members, combining traditional layouts with modern aesthetics. Contrasting wood tones, specialty lighting, and laminates in EFCU Financial’s branding colors elevate the design while maintaining practicality. Under-counter accent cove lighting enhances the contemporary feel, while strategic pops of color across the branch highlight distinct areas, including the custom refreshment bar. This unique feature doubles as a community wall, showcasing imagery that reflects the Baton Rouge community and reinforces the credit union’s local roots.

Lighting played a crucial role in shaping the branch’s ambiance. Specialty pendant lights, ceiling coves, and color-changing LEDs highlight key areas like the community table—a dynamic, inviting space designed for informal meetings. This area remains vibrant even after dark, enhancing the branch’s welcoming atmosphere. The private offices were thoughtfully crafted with a transitional design, combining warm wood veneers with contemporary finishes, frosted glass storefronts, under-cabinet task lighting, and tack boards, creating professional yet approachable spaces for staff and members alike.

Our role extended to exterior and interior signage, ensuring the design was cohesive and functional. The exterior signage package included a branded monument sign tailored to the site’s conditions and aligned with EFCU Financial’s brand standards. Inside, branding elements such as wall-mounted logo signs, marketing frames, and window privacy film maintained a cohesive aesthetic. This integration balanced privacy needs with visibility, ensuring each element served both practical and branding purposes.
