Designing and Planning

CDI Solutions was privileged to spearhead the comprehensive design, space planning, branding, and wayfinding for Campus Federal Credit Union's innovative micro-branch locations in Our Lady of the Lake Regional Hospital and Louisiana State University’s Student Union in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. These projects epitomize our commitment to crafting spaces that are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with the credit union's brand identity. Most importantly, the designs are tailored to enhance the member experience. Leveraging a previously developed design prototype created for Campus Federal’s New Orleans office, CDI Solutions adapted it into a modular kit of parts suitable for micro-branches catering to the distinct needs of each member base.

Innovative Design Features

The new micro-branch designs represent a harmonious fusion of custom millwork, branded elements, traditional materials, and contemporary design lines. The intent was to seamlessly incorporate Campus Federal Credit Union’s brand identity while prioritizing the member experience within compact footprints. Upon entering the micro-branch, members are greeted at a custom-designed concierge desk. From there, a striking millwork feature wall intuitively guides members toward the interactive teller machines (ITMs), creating a cohesive and inviting flow throughout the space.

Functionality and Aesthetic Integration

A standout feature of these micro-branches is the integration of curved design elements, visually linking the various services offered. The teller line, an innovative system of ITMs, includes design considerations such as member separation, writing areas, and trash receptacles. The custom millwork feature wall seamlessly incorporates these elements with removable panels, integrated power, and movable cabinets to facilitate easy servicing of the ITM units. Wayfinding and branding are thoughtfully integrated into acrylic dividers between each unit, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Accessibility and Inclusivitiy

In keeping with our commitment to accessibility and inclusivity, the teller units include both standard-height and ADA-compliant options, ensuring all members, including those with special needs, are comfortably served. Privacy between customers is thoughtfully maintained through panels that incorporate integrated marketing materials, creating barriers that are both functional and informative. This careful attention to inclusivity underscores the credit union’s dedication to serving a diverse member base.

Alignment with Values

The open, barrier-free layout of the micro-branches fosters an environment of accessibility, ease, and productivity for both staff and members. The design was deeply influenced by the credit union's mission "to be your trusted financial partner for every stage of your life" and their philosophy of "people helping people." These guiding principles were central to every design decision, ensuring alignment with the credit union’s core values while creating a positive and welcoming environment for members.

Consistent Designs

This project stands as a testament to CDI Solutions' ability to deliver comprehensive, consistent, and innovative design solutions within a small footprint. By integrating custom millwork, branded elements, and modern design lines, CDI Solutions has created micro-branches that are visually striking and highly functional. These designs enable Campus Federal Credit Union to extend its reach into new spaces once deemed impractical. The micro-branches exemplify how thoughtful design can empower a credit union to serve its members effectively in areas with limited space, broadening their service capabilities and reinforcing their commitment to member satisfaction.
