Our recent project, Blend, a wine bar located in the heart of Baton Rouge, exemplifies CDI Solutions' dedication to creating spaces that are both functional and immersive. The design of Blend balances modern sophistication with cozy, inviting elements, offering patrons a memorable experience that encourages both socialization and relaxation. Through thoughtful space planning, the use of unique materials, and a consistent design language, we have transformed Blend into a standout venue that caters to a wide variety of guests, from casual wine enthusiasts to those seeking a more refined dining experience.

The two-level design of Blend creates a dynamic environment, catering to a variety of moods and occasions. The ground floor features the main bar as the space’s heart, offering ample sit-down dining options and lounge-style seating for intimate gatherings. The mezzanine provides a more relaxed atmosphere with private seating vignettes that overlook the vibrant scene below. This division allows Blend to host both lively social events and quiet conversations. At the core of the design is the central wine bar, crafted from reclaimed cypress and accented with antique bronze laminate and cast iron wine bottle brackets. This handcrafted piece, created in collaboration with a local artisan, not only serves as a functional hub but also reinforces Blend’s rustic yet refined aesthetic, balancing the space and creating a sense of equilibrium.

Lighting is a crucial element in Blend’s design, playing a key role in setting the ambiance. Accent lighting at the back bar highlights the extensive wine selection, drawing the eye and inviting guests to explore the curated offerings. A dynamic lighting scheme, which includes under-counter LEDs, dimmable pendant lights, and feature lights crafted from reclaimed wine carafes, ensures that the space transitions seamlessly from day to night. Upon entering Blend, guests are immediately captivated by the harmonious blend of rustic architectural elements and modern design features. Period reproduction wall coverings and canvas-wrapped artwork featuring vineyard-inspired imagery reinforce the bar’s wine-themed aesthetic.
