CDI Solutions is proud to present the transformation of a once-iconic Latin American restaurant into a vibrant venue, now known as Barcadia, that combines a restaurant, bar, and arcade. This project highlights our ability to blend functionality with aesthetic appeal, creating a space that is visually stunning, practical for staff, and inviting for customers. The renovation respects the client’s industrial look from their other warehouse locations while introducing fresh, modern elements that make Barcadia stand out as a unique destination.

At the heart of the redesign is the expansive bar, designed as both a focal point and a practical solution for large crowds. Stretching across the room, it allows bartenders to efficiently serve both interior and exterior dining areas. The black-painted ceiling and exposed galvanized ducts enhance the industrial aesthetic central to the client's brand. The layout supports operational flow for staff while creating an inviting atmosphere for guests, making the bar a popular gathering spot. The arcade area is another standout feature, with custom-colored wall coverings that reinforce the venue's brand identity. High beadboard wainscoting protects the walls from wear and tear, while reflective surfaces add a dynamic glow, enhancing the vibrant energy of the space. This playful section draws patrons into the excitement of the arcade, appealing to guests of all ages.

One of the most significant changes in the renovation was the transformation of the patio area. Previously a separate and traditional outdoor space, the patio is now seamlessly integrated into the main dining area, significantly improving traffic flow during large events. We maximized the bar space by utilizing existing window openings as additional countertop areas, allowing for more efficient service. Structural elements of the patio were painted black, creating a sense of visual spaciousness, while colorful picnic tables were added to enhance the casual and inviting vibe. Red accents, consistent with Barcadia's logo, were strategically placed throughout the space, from barn lights to air diffuser vent covers, providing a cohesive design theme.

A key feature of the patio is the installation of glass garage doors along the exterior wall, providing flexibility to transform the space into a conditioned area during inclement weather while preserving an outdoor feel. The combination of polished and textured surfaces creates a balanced aesthetic, adding character and appealing to a broad range of patrons. One of Barcadia’s two bars is dedicated to the LSU Tigers, presenting a design challenge as we integrated purple and gold accents into the venue’s predominantly red and black theme. A rich purple was selected to complement the existing color scheme, while antique gold tin ceiling tiles and reflective gold elements in the custom wall coverings create a cohesive design that celebrates LSU spirit without overpowering the venue's overall aesthetic.

The use of graphic, uniquely patterned wall coverings at Barcadia adds youthful energy to the space, with sections featuring pin-up girl tattoo art from the 1950s and a custom-colored pattern inspired by Andy Warhol’s ink blot paintings in a traditional damask style. These bold designs contribute to the lively, eclectic atmosphere, creating a visual contrast between polished and textured surfaces. The exterior design mirrors this thoughtful approach, combining the brand's signature red with reclaimed wood and modern elements to ensure both durability and aesthetic appeal. This creates a striking first impression, setting the tone for the unique experience guests can expect as they step inside.
