CDI Solutions completed a transformative project for the Livingston Parish Council, addressing the evolving needs of a growing community. This 25,000-square-foot facility was designed to house the Parish Council Chambers and DMV, incorporating modern solutions to replace outdated and inadequate spaces. The design concept focused on blending the traditional character of municipal spaces with the functionality of a technology-driven, contemporary environment.
Â
One of the key challenges was integrating advanced technology, including audiovisual and power systems, without disrupting the aesthetic of the space. Our team successfully ensured these components were hidden from view while remaining fully accessible and functional for users. The result is a facility that maintains a clean and professional appearance, yet is equipped with the latest technological advancements, offering both form and function.

Custom millwork played a vital role in defining the character of the space. Our firm designed and oversaw the creation of detailed millwork that not only enhanced the visual appeal but also served practical purposes tailored to the needs of the Parish Council and DMV. By using regionally manufactured products, we further supported local industries, while maintaining a cohesive and thoughtful design.
Sustainability was a key consideration throughout the design process. The carpeting used is CRI Green Label Plus certified, ensuring low VOC emissions for improved indoor air quality. Additionally, the porcelain tile selected for the facility is certified by the Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Certification Program, confirming its compliance with strict chemical emission limits. These environmentally conscious choices reflect our commitment to creating healthy, sustainable spaces.
The facility was designed to accommodate various activities and services, from council meetings to DMV operations. Flexibility was a priority, with spaces designed to adapt to different functions easily. The Parish Council Chambers were created to be formal and welcoming, with a layout supporting efficient operations and encouraging public participation. The DMV area was designed with the user experience in mind, incorporating comfortable seating, clear signage, and efficient workflows to enhance staff and public interactions.
Our design carefully balanced the traditional elements expected in municipal spaces with modern touches to ensure the facility feels familiar and forward-looking. Medium walnut wood tones and aluminum accents were prominently used throughout, providing a warm, professional aesthetic that aligns with the Parish’s identity. This blend of materials and a thoughtful color palette ensure the space feels inviting yet appropriately formal.
Our design approach focused on user experience. We maximize natural light to create bright, welcoming spaces that promote well-being. Comfortable seating arrangements and thoughtful spatial layouts enhance the experience for both staff and visitors, fostering a sense of ease and productivity within the space.
Every detail of this project, from the custom millwork to the sustainable materials, reflects our firm’s dedication to high-quality design and execution. The result is a facility that not only meets the immediate needs of the Parish but is also prepared for future growth. Our design ensures the space remains relevant, functional, and environmentally responsible for years to come.
In conclusion, the new Livingston Parish Council Chambers and DMV facility reflect the Parish’s growth and modernization. Equipped with cutting-edge technology seamlessly integrated into the design, the facility honors the traditional character of municipal spaces while embracing the future. This project sets a new standard for municipal facilities through sustainable design practices, custom millwork, and a focus on the user experience. It exemplifies our firm’s ability to deliver complex, high-impact projects.
